Monday morning was the first day back to work since bringing Deli back into work at the weekend. I wasn't sure if working him in the morning before work or after work would be a good idea - either option would be in the dark. As I'm likely to wimp out and just give up I've chosen to do so in the morning. Get it over and done with then I can muck out and put to bed in the evening. However I only have a window of 45 minutes once I get to the yard to tack him up with his roller and boots, long rein and then rug up and turn him and Sapphire out. Monday was a little trial as we had the farrier coming at 8am so I was to leave them both in so they're dry and clean for the farrier. So should I run out of time I could quickly shove him back in his stable, throw his rug over him and give them both hay. But it went well, it was a beautiful morning the sky just starting to get light in the distance. Deli went well and the long reining worked well under head torch. I managed to soak a section of hay for Sapphire and fill up her hay soaker as well and leave on time.
After work was a manic rush I had a hour to muck them both out, do their waters, soak a haynet for Sapphire, give Deli a groom and fill up Deli's hay bucket as I needed to be home for 7pm to meet a decorator to give me a estimate. Also I'd forgotten to bring a jumper with me to wear under my jacket so was very cold!
